David Iacobsohn

  General Notes:

His name was not Iacobsohn originally, but sin-(Leiba ?). From what I have read, original names of Romanian jews of long was sin-xxxxx (sin is a romanian for son). The majority of the Ashkenazi jews in Romania emigrated from Poland during the 19-th century bringing with them the German-like family names (like Goldenberg), and the sin-xxxx during time abandoned their original names for the more common one.
So he chose Iacobsohn (his mother's brother family name), while a brother of his was Leibovici.
